So, I'm at the Minnesota Zoo this afternoon to do some animal sketching and I'm really excited because they've gotten some grey wolves in addition to the mexican wolves they had when I was there last, which was almost a year ago.

Sure enough, I'm walking through the Minnesota Trail, and I get to the wolf exhibit. After five minutes of looking, I finally spotted this beautiful wolf by the fence in the corner, just laying there. Eventually I had to leave her because of how cold it was.

Near the end when i was done, I told myself that I had to go through one more time. I don't know if she hadn't had many people see her since the last time or what, but as soon as she saw me and a few other people coming, she runs up next to the glass and jumps up on her hind legs. Not long enough to capture her in a drawing, but enough to snap a good photo.

I wanted to just reach out and hug her. They are truly amazing creatures and I'm glad I got to see her.
